Top 10 Things You Should Know Before Going To Tomorrowland
This year is the Tomorrowland Music Festival aka the best EDM festival of the world is happening on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of July. If you’re going there or you are planning to go there soon then this is a list that will be the ambulance to your emergency, the masala to your chai, the Taylor Swift to your break up, I can go on and on. The point is – This list will tell you everything you need to know about Tomorrowland in the best possible way.
Also I am giving a break to the usual format of the blog just to tell you about this amazing festival. I was there in 2013 on my birthday (I travel on every birthday of mine) and trust me this place has got the best crowd in the world.
1 – All roads lead to Tomorrowland.
If you are landing in Belgium during the festival week then you don’t have to worry about anything. There are Tomorrowland help desks at every step inside the airport. The immigration officers are super friendly and there are shuttle buses direct to the festival in Boom. Also the partaayyy starts right from the airplane or the bus.
2 – What to do if you’ve booked the tickets from a third party website.
This is a question a lot of my friends have asked me this year. The ticket sales from the official website are like a cute girl in an engineering college, they don’t last long. If you’ve booked tickets from websites like viagogo then all you will get is an email of the confirmation, while people who have booked tickets officially get home delivery of Tomorrowland ‘fancy’ box with a band inside. You don’t need to panic. There will be a small kiosk outside the main entrance for ticket sales from Viagogo.
3 – Sunglasses during Day And Night Time and Sunscreen.
At Tomorrowland it’s mostly sunny. I was a bit unlucky; it rained cats and dogs in 2013. So, everywhere else it’s considered really uncool and wanna be to wear Sunnies at night. At Tomorrowland you would need them because the laser show on the mainstage is blinding. It’s a visual spectacle and also very harsh on your eyes. In fact a lot of people have gotten eye issues post this festival. You need to wear sunscreen during the day time as it can get really hot in Boom.
4 – The Festival Has Its Own Currency.
It’s a very good idea to have a universal currency for the festival. Right from drinks to raincoats; you need tokens. Not only at the festival but also at Dreamville everything is dealt in Tomorrowland Tokens. I suggest buy lots of it, once you run out of them you will have to stand in long queues again. It’s really time consuming.
5 – Do not tamper with their art installations.
Tomorrowland and its people take great pride in their art installations. Trust me it’s not only the trippiest place to be at night but also the most gorgeous and unreal looking place at day time. It’s a fairyland quite literally. If you tamper with their art they will tamper with you. You will be escorted out.
6 – Carry a flag of your country and even better to dress up traditionally.
It’s tried and tested. Trust me it works. Tomorrowland is not only an EDM Festival but also a place for people to show their funny costumes off. People are really friendly and it’s really easy to strike a conversation with anyone. You will see a lot of national flags on the mainstage but how to stand out? At this festival people dress up as bananas, donkeys etc. and it is the best way to make a lot of new friends to party with.
7 – Ferris Wheel of Tomorrowland.
It used to be the Tallest Portable Ferris Wheel in Europe. I think it still is, it’s also the best way to get a perfect bird’s eye view of the wide spread festival. This place has several stages and to avoid the sound clash from different stages, they’re situated at quite a distance. That also means a lot of walking. The lines are long but trust me it’s worth it.
8 – Stages apart from the mainstage.
OK! This is my favourite part. Tomorrowland has a gazillion stages. Almost everyone there is for the artists performing at the mainstage but there are a lot of hidden/less popular stages where you will have the time of your life. I will be suggesting you a few stages where you have to go. I mean YOU HAVE TO GO!
Mainstage of course –
The RADIO ULTRA MODERN STAGE – If you don’t go there then please don’t bother going to Tomorrowland. I don’t know why a people don’t know about this stage, aside from all the loud music and fast BPM this place with give you the chills.
The hidden stage challenge – Ok! I am giving you a task. I can post a picture of this hidden stage and tell you where it is but then the feeling of you discovering it and partying there is something else. All I can tell you is it’s a very small tunnel. If you find it then Instagram it with #WanderlustWithParikshit
All the other stages –
9 – Church Of Love
Ha Ha! As the name suggests. This is a small place with rooms and beds for all your love needs.
10 – Dreamville camping for the best Tomorrowland Experience.
You can stay in hotels nearby in Brussels but if you want the authentic Tomorrowland experience stay in the camping site called Dreamville. You will meet the best of people and have the best time.
Have a good time in Tomorrowland and if you’re still planning then stop and book your tickets next year. 🙂
