Project Intern | Princia
Q : Hi Princia, first things first, (Welcome to City 1016) tell us how old are you and how long have you been in Dubai?
A: Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I am 22 years old and have lived in Dubai my whole life. And I must add that I have been listening to City 1016 since third grade. So, I have practically seen Dubai, City 1016 and myself grow up together !
Q: School school? College college?
A: I did Kg 1 till 10th grade in Our Own English High School, Sharjah and did my 11th and 12th grade from Delhi Private School, Sharjah. I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the American University of Sharjah. So, it is safe to say that I am a full fledged #Sharjahkid.
Q: When did you realise radio was something you wanted to get into?
A: In my childhood, when most children of my age would play “Doctor Doctor” or “Teacher Teacher”, I would play “RJ RJ”, asking my parents and friends to request songs and play them on my stereo. Although I had a feeling that working at a radio network was not as easy as it looked and sounded, I always had a desire to experience what it was like to work at City 1016. I am so glad that Project Intern happened at the right time and I got this opportunity to learn how things work in the No.1 Bollywood Radio Station in the UAE.
Q: Like Movies? What are the last 3 movies you loved?
A: I absolutely LOVE Bollywood movies; in fact I consider myself a huge Bollywood buff. The last 3 movies that I loved were:
- Dear Zindagi
Each of these films had a beautiful and meaningful message to convey.
Q: What are the last 3 songs you loved so much, you couldn’t stop singing?
A: My playlist is filled with Bollywood songs from the late 90s until now #honestconfession. But if I had to pick three of my most favorite songs, it has to be:
- Gerua –Dilwale (Yes, I still listen to it and is the most played song on my playlist)
- Love you Zindagi –Dear Zindagi
Being a huge SRK fan, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that my top 3 songs are from his movies.
Q: 3 things you you discovered after joining City 1016 studios?
A: a) The people working here right from the presenters to the production and marketing team are so incredibly helpful and patient in answering all my questions. I love you guys already!
b) The work environment in City 1016 is so positive and everyone always has a smile on their face,12 no matter how stressed they are.
c) The amount of hard work that goes behind making even the smallest promos and of course scheduling the list of songs to play throughout the day. Hats off guys, really!!!
Q: Things you just can’t wait for to discover/introduce at City 1016?
A: Being shy in nature, I definitely want to boost my interpersonal skills. In addition, I can’t wait to be a part of City 1016’s events and contribute to the team. I also look forward to sitting with the different departments like production and marketing and gain an understanding of their roles and the technical details associated with radio.
