    We all know millions and millions of people attend Kumbh Mela. In fact 75 million people attended Kumbh Mela in 2011 and hence it was visible even from space.
    2. World’s second largest English speaking country.
    125 million people in India (which is hardly 10% of our population) speak in English making us the second largest English speaking nation in the world after the USA. So the next time when someone asks you how you speak English so well, you know what to say 😉
  2. Rabindra nath Tagore wrote Bangladesh’s National Anthem
    That makes two countries’ national anthems. Wow!! Salute. Wait there is more- He was also offered knighthood by the British but refused the honor after the Jalianwala Bagh massacre.
  3. Diamonds were first mined in India
    Before Brazil it was in the Krishna River Delta in India that diamonds were found making it India the pioneers in diamond production.
  4. A Floating Post Office
    The world’s only floating post office is in Dal Lake in Srinagar inaugurated in August 2011.
