This week we decided to put on our spy hats and sunglasses and check out the James Bond exhibit! It is a moving exhibit, so it goes from country to country, 3 months at a time and right now it is in Dubai!!
Where is it?
The exhibit is at the Annex at the Burj Khalifa, right next to the Armani hotel. So just drive up to the Burj Khalifa and the 007 flags will guide you to the Annex. There is free valet parking available as well, so go there ekdum bindaas mein cos there’s no tension of parking.
What can I see there?
They are showcasing 50 years of Bond style and they have over 500 original objects from the movies over the years. So you get to see the original Aston Martin DB5 silver used in Golden Eye in 1964 and the BMW 1200R used by Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies!
They even have a room recreating the poker table from Casino Royale, with all the famous costumes in mannequins sitting around the table pretending to play poker! A Mannequin Challenge there would be super easy to do!
They also have the smaller props like passports used by the various Bond actors over the years and even monogrammed cufflinks “JB” that Bond wears to suit up before he goes off to chase bad guys.
Tickets cost 125 AED for adults and 90AED for students and children. Tickets can be bought online or at the door as well. The exhibit is open from 10am -11pm and in Dubai till the 13th of February, 2017.
How long will it take?
If you’re a fan of the franchise you can spend hours there. But even if you’re not, it’s a fun walk-through that will not take more than an hour. It’s just amazing to see the amount of work and detailing that goes into the making of a movie, and that’s always interesting to see.
We loved it and totally recommend it! Go check it out and let us know what you think!
