The Inspiring Story behind India’s Michael Jackson

Prabhu Deva aka The dancing deva or India’s Michael Jackson is known for his awesome, breathtaking dance moves that can get anyone to dance. He has choreographed over 100 movies, directed 13 movies and produced 4 movies. He is a man of few words but his work speaks a lot. After all, he has won two National Awards for Minsara Kanavu and Lakshya.

However, his journey to fame and success has not been easy. The choreographer-turned-director started his career at 15,assisting his dance director father Mugur Sundar whom he also considers his inspiration.

As a budding choreographer, his first experience was quite challenging as he had to teach Kamal Hassan dance steps for a movie. Thus, started his journey in the film industry.

Despite being a Southern star, Prabhu Deva has managed to establish his name in Bollywood. Prabhu Deva’s talent was first noticed by Mani Ratnam. A film directed by Mani Ratnam, was short of dancers and he had approached Prabhu Deva to do it who gave his nod.

Apart from this, India’s Michael Jackson has given us blockbusters like Humse Hai Muqbala, Abrakadabra, Pukar, Shakti: The Power, Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, Boss, Action Jackson and many more.

Prabhu Deva is one of the few people who has made it in the film industry solely because of his talent. In spite of this, success has not got into his head and he shares a great rapport with all of his co-stars. In fact, Farah Khan and Sonu Sood consider him of the most humble people in Bollywood

While ice-creams and games helps Prabhu Deva to de stress, his next mission is to soon open a dance school in India.
