Dubai Museum – Love It Recommend It
Disappearing tombs, ancient civilizations where the worlds biggest clubs are today, fashion from 3000 b.c, divers who would risk their lives 50 times a day – some of the amazing things we saw here!
This week we went to Dubai Museum… Yes. The same one that is just 10 minutes from home. Can’t believe we’ve lived in this country FOR YEARS! And never been.
Best, most, awesome thing about the experience was that it cost us AED6!!!! 6. SIX! Six!!!! (Shock)
We LOVED the experience. Learned so, so much about the history of the lovely city we live in. Renewed respect for the Emarati community and all those who built this city from literally – NOTHING!
Look through the pictures and you’ll know why we Love it and Recommend it!
Ladies and Gentleman!!! Dubai Museum!!!!
Did you know that Dubai is 5000 years old… That’s…OLD.
Sid on the abra… We like to call this Life of (Du)-Pi
I’ll be the night, you be the shining armour.
That’s how TINY Dubai used to be!
Dubai model 1822. Hahahaha.
Sid’s new living room
A map of Dubai from 1822. That’s like …… a very long time ago.
1894. That fateful year when Dubai became tax free…. And since then life for us has never been the same.
Dubai used to be 3km long and 1 km wide. That is as small as Meena Bazaar. Maybe smaller. Now terminal 3 is bigger than that!
The biggest question in this museum is – so is that person real or wood?
Amazing Dubai! Remember this the next time you pick up a glass!
Pearl diver needs a hand, poor thing !
Did you know that…. Pearl divers would dive 50 times a day!!!! Can you even imagine what that could do to your body?
It’s kind of hard to imagine Dubai as being 3000 years old right?
The disappearing tomb – a Do-not-miss-sight at the museum
Sid is cutlery shopping in ‘Jumeirah’ of 2000 BC
2000 B.C – Khali ka glass.
Al Fahidi Ffort – you were awesome! We love it and we recommend it!!!
